We are located 17 km from the airport. There is a good taxi service and tickets, fixed price to specific destinations, can be obtained from the taxi counter just outside the arrival gate. Just ask for "Windy Beach Resort, Mangsit (just past Holiday Resort)".

The public ferry terminal, Lembar, is about 20 km south of Mataram. Unfortunately, however, there is a “closed shop” policy at the harbour, which prohibits taxis and hotel vehicles from entering the area to pick up passengers. You either have to negotiate a fare with the favoured local operators allowed in, or make your own way to the vehicle park about 500m away. Our advice to potential passengers is to come by Perama shuttle bus, whose staff will take care of you from your pick-up point in Bali until you reach Windy. This may not be the most comfortable way to travel, but it is the cheapest option for a relatively hassle-free journey. Visit www.peramatour.com for details.

The fast ferries come in to Teluk Nara or Teluk Kodek, on the north-west corner of Lombok, about 20 km north of Windy. Taxis are available, or we can arrange pick up.

Visas:
The present Indonesian visa system is as follows:

1. Validity: 10 or 30 days, non-extendable.
2. Cost:
Category A: Visa on Arrival. Asean countries and a selected number of other countries who offer reciprocal facilities to Indonesians: FREE
Category B: Visa on Arrival. US, Canada, Australia, NZ, France, Germany, UK, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, etc (63 in all): $10 for 10 days, $25 for 30 days
Category C: All other countries: the fee applicable at the Indonesian embassy to which application for a visa is made.

Visa-on-arrival facilities are available at Indonesian international airports (including Mataram) for travellers in Categories A and B. Category C travellers must obtain visas before travel.
